Eight militants killed in Swat: ISPR

PESHAWAR: The army claimed that eight terrorists, including local commander Bilal, had been killed during an operation in Loe Namal and Pansarat areas of Swat on Wednesday and Thursday.

According to the ISPR, 20 hideouts of militants were destroyed, 15 terrorists captured and a large quantity of arms and ammunition seized.

During an operation in Gwalerai, troops destroyed six militant hideouts and seized 10 rifles and one double-cabin jeep.

Two tunnels and four bunkers were demolished in Kalagai. Three rifles, four pistols and a vehicle were recovered in Tahirabad and Aman Kot areas.

In Bunnu, four terrorists were captured and two rifles and one pistol were seized. Two FC personnel died and one soldier and six policemen suffered injuries when an explosive device exploded near a police van in Bakakhe.—APP
