Six dead, four injured as building collapses in Karachi

KARACHI: At least three people were killed and four injured after a building collapsed in the Lyari Town of Karachi late Friday.
Rescue workers were struggling to dig through the rubble owing to the narrow alleyways, making it difficult for heavy machines to access the site of the accident.
According to rescue officials, several people are still believed to be trapped under the rubble.
Paramedics told DawnNews that nearly a dozen injured people were shifted to hospitals of whom, several are said to be in critical condition.
The building is located in a tightly packed alleyway close to the famous Kakri ground in Lyari.
Talking to DawnNews, EDO Municipal Services, Masood Alam expressed concern at the location of the tragedy.
He said the city government's machinery was on site but was unable to gain access to the collapsed building.
